The Devil

It has been a while since I've been able to hang out here for a moment or two a day. The month of November means many things, family gatherings, Thanksgiving, leaves turning, leaves falling, and the perenial favorite, leaves being raked. Last but certainly not the least for the past few years it has been NANO month. National Write Novels Month, for those who haven't been around my household since 2004 or so. The participants have 30 days to write a 50,000 word novel. Now, don't let me kid you here that isn't a 'whole' book it is a rough draft, sort of an outline if you will. There are many gaps and holes in most of the stories, especially mine. So, mine won't be one of the thousands that will be pitched to editors and agents this month. But I did finish, and my Fae friends are resting for the next 30 days or so for me to come back and read it. By that time I promise I won't recognize much of the work, I know of a couple of major gaps where I got bored and skipped ahead. This weekend I have to figure out how to get my little badge downloaded so I can show it off to everyone.

Todays card is the Devil. Most of you know I don't believe in the Devil, at least not in the popular form. The Devil in the Tarot for me means this is a day when I must watch for the temptations that can overcome any good work I've done. The Devil is allowing someone or something to take your power from you, making your decisions. The positive side of this card is learning what works to protect you. It is learning that you have the power to control your own life and actions.
