Today I drew the Seven of Cups, the card of the dreamer. It depicts a woman lost in the clouds with seven cups filled with riches, drama, nightmares, castles, and monsters. Some dreams can be positive some frightening. Some view this as a negative card, as if day dreaming were a waste of time. For an aspiring writer, this card is very important. Ideas and imagination are the bread and butter for anyone who looks at putting words to paper or to this blank screen staring at me.
This card serves to jog my mental capacity. I once read that the most important thing for a writer to be successful is to keep your butt in the chair. It's been too easy for me to find things that distract me from doing just that. Dreams can only take you so far, in any endeavor in order for a dream to come true, you gotta do the work. This is one card I should frame and put on the wall by my desk.
